Trucking Accident Lawyers
Injured in a Trucking Accident? We Can Help.
We all rely on truck drivers to deliver essential goods to cities and towns throughout Ontario, but when these large trucks are involved in an accident, the results can be catastrophic. Truck accidents can result in major injuries, including spinal cord and orthopedic damage. Both require extensive rehabilitation for recovery and can even force victims to deal with permanent lifestyle changes.
Trucking companies often carry extensive third-party liability coverage so that personal injury victims can potentially receive significant compensation. However, trucking companies usually also have access to comprehensive legal resources and will aggressively fight against personal injury and wrongful death claims.
Strype Injury Law is composed of highly experienced trial lawyers who have represented clients in more than 250 trials. We understand how to successfully prove liability in truck accident cases. Our truck accident lawyers will examine every aspect of the case, including licensing requirements, maintenance records, truck safety, and driver negligence.

What To Do After a Trucking Accident
-
If possible, move your vehicle out of harm’s way.
-
Call 911 This will alert police and ambulance services.
-
Check for injuries. If you feel that you have been seriously injured, do not try to move. Let the First Responders evaluate you and provide necessary care and support. It is important that you go to the hospital if it is recommended. Please proceed to the hospital right away. Hospital records are extremely important in evaluating which injuries occurred in the accident. The insurance industry often suggests that injuries had already existed or are not related to the accident because there was no initial complaint at the time of the accident.
-
If the accident is minor or no major injuries are present, then move the vehicles to a safe area. Turn hazard lights on in all vehicles involved in the accident.
-
Call the police.
-
Make notes of damages and take pictures.
-
Record or photograph the names, addresses, license plate numbers, vehicle information (make, model, year) of each vehicle involved in the accident, as well as insurance information.
-
Get information from any available witnesses, especially their names and contact information.
-
When able, Contact your insurance company.
-
It is absolutely vital that you begin a diary containing dates, times, places of medical treatment and insurance contacts.
